If I could give River Bend six stars, I would! My mother was a resident there for years. I visited her daily, and was always impressed with her care from the cleaning crew all the way up the chain. I would like to give a shout out to two people who really helped me and mom and went way above just doing their jobs… Amber, a head nurse who kept me informed of mom's care every step of the way. She would call me with any and all changes, concerns, etc… She truly cares about her residents! She is a shining star! And Andrea Lorick, the Director of Admissions who I can't say enough good. She was there for me and mom when we needed her the most! She went way above and beyond with her help with Social Security, a situation that could have had dire consequences. She walked me through every step of the way. Besides being the best at her job, I truly feel like I have a life long friend in Andrea! The biggest compliment I can give WNC Baptist Home is…I would feel lucky to be a resident there one day!

The staff and facility at River Bend is wonderful! Andrea makes sure that admission is easy as possible and she has a heart like no other for the people entrusted to their care. River Bend employees are dedicated and experienced, and have a passion for caring for those that cannot care for themselves and are approaching the end of their lives. We moved my father in after he had a bad stroke, lost his swallowing and had to be tube fed directly into his stomach. He was bed-ridden for much of his 2 years there, but the CNAs, Nurses and administrative staff worked hard to keep him safe, fed, clean, comfortable, and laughing and engaged when possible. That is no easy task. They made me feel welcome when I and other family members came in every day to be with him. They also coordinated all of the decisions about him through me, and were patient with my many questions and solution-finding process. I had access to the Doctor to ask questions and collaborate on how to deal with his many issues as they progressed. Thank goodness for this home, they made a very difficult and emotional time as good as they could. My brother, husband and I will forever be grateful.
